[English]

Today, in aquaculture, tranquilizers are used to minimize stress in processes such as handling and transportation. this study aimed evaluate the effects of clove essential oil on reducing the stress of common carp with a weight of 1.5±0.2 grams after one hour of transportation and after one week of salinity stress (6 and 12 micrograms per liter). For this purpose, fishes were exposed to different concentrations of clove essential oil (0 as control, 6, 9 and 12 microliters per liter). After one hour to transportation, the amount of glucose, cortisol and total protein in the treatments containing clove essential oil showed a significant decrease compared to the control group. (P<0.05). So, the lowest amount of glucose and cortisol was observed in the treatment of 12 microliters/liter of clove essence. (P<0.05). The amount of albumin and immunoglobulin did not show any significant difference in the test treatments (P≤0.05). After and one-week of salinity stress, the amount of glucose showed a significant decrease with increasing the amount of clove essential oil in both salinity 6 and 12 (P<0.05). The amount of albumin in the experimental treatments did not show any significant difference (P≤0.05). Total protein and immunoglobulin showed a decreasing trend with increasing the amount of clove essential oil in each salinity, and the amount of total protein and immunoglobulin was higher in salinity 12 than salinity 6 in all clove treatments (P<0.05). In general, the use of cloves can be used as a sedative and stress reducer in the stressful conditions of transportation and saltiness.
