Abstract
Rearing conditions such as density, temperature, water quality, and frequency of feeding are among the most important factors affecting fish growth in aquaculture. Therefore, this study was done to evaluate effects of interaction between temperature and feeding frequency on the growth of juveniles Caspian roach weighting approximately 0.5 ± 0.05 g during 45 days. Juvenile fish were reared at four temperature levels of; 20, 24, 28 and 32 ° C, and the 3 feeding frequency of 2, 3 and 4 times/day. The Juveniles were fed 5% of body weight per day. Analysis of the results showed that increasing the feeding frequency improved growth rate (final weight), specific growth rate and feed conversion, However, significant differences were not observed in any of the treatments (P > 0.05). Whereas significant difference was observed among treatments evaluated at different temperatures (P < 0.05) and best growth was observed at 20 and 24 °C treatments. Finally, it can be concluded that the best conditions for rearing of juvenile Caspian roach looks to be temperatures of 20 and 24 °C and 2 to 4 times feeding/day.
