An investigation on barriers warm water fish culture from point of view of aqua culturist in Golestan Province

Abstract

This study aimed to identify an investigation on barriers warm water fish culture from point of view of aqua culturist in Golestan Province. Study was a descriptive survey. ¬¬T¬he statistical population of the study consisted of all 147 aqua culturist and all of them were selected using census method. Information was gathered through a questionnaire which its face validity was confirmed by experts of agricultural extension and fisheries. The reliability analysis was conducted with completing 30 questionnaires outside the geographic research region and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.76. The results showed the most important barriers of warm water fish culture including lack of sufficient number of extension education classes, property issue water resources, lack of funds and the governmental support, removing subsidies and increase the price of fuel failure to observe hygienic sanitation by the staff, algal bloom, lack of behavioral risk character vulnerability in aqua culturist and lack of chemical fertilizers. This study has recommended the necessity of government support and its help in stabilizing aquatics prices and entrepreneurial skills education to aquatic breeders.
